Wheaton/GCSEN Students Conquer at International Social Business Model Competition!

A two-student team of Wheaton SE Launch/GCSEN 4P Social Entrepreneurs from Wheaton College, Aidan Travis and Gabriel “Gabe” Childs Michael, were recently selected among the winners of the #impaktWISE Ideation Awards 2022, sponsored by Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.

The #impaktWISE Awards are an international social business model competition. This year’s winners included teams from schools in Ecuador, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The team's social venture, Conifer Solar Solutions, intends to increase access to renewable energy through the sale of solar-powered thermoelectric cooling systems. Their idea was originally born during Wheaton College’s Social Entrepreneurship Launch (SE Launch) Program. GCSEN has been leading this social venture bootcamp portion of SE Launch for several years, and it's one of most intense and impactful programs. We are so excited to see students moving on from the program and going forward with their great ideas, and really making an impact!

Congratulations to Aidan and Gabe!
