Social Venture Boot Camp Alum Wins Award at Tufts!

Wabei Saboi, Wheaton SE Launch graduate and 2019 GCSEN 4P Social Venture Boot Camp Alum, has moved up to pursue her Masters in International Business at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Recently, Wabei was the winner of the 2022 Fletcher D-Prize award for her project Blesser Breakers. According to Wabei, "Sugar Daddies (known colloquially in Zambia as 'blessers') are older men who give money and gifts to younger women (and girls) in exchange for sexual favors. Blesser Breakers aims to raise awareness and reduce this form of sexual exploitation by delivering a 3-part, 2-hour intervention to Grade 8 girls in Western Province, Zambia. The program will reduce risky cross-generational sexual relationships, in turn reducing the spread of HIV and unwanted pregnancy."

The prize for this prestigious competition includes up to $20,000 to pilot the lifesaving venture in Africa. We are so proud that Wabei has continued to pursue her world-changing social venture. Congratulations, Wabei, on this amazing achievement!
