Meet GCSEN’s 2026 Intern, Hana Heath Bouayad-Agha

"Through this internship I was not only able to gain valuable professional experience, but also got to know and understand the importance of GCSEN's work on a deeper level. It was eye-opening with regard to my future. Professor Caslin’s passion for his work at the foundation and for the goal of making the world a better place via a distinct, responsible approach to entrepreneurship, was immediately clear upon meeting him.” - Hana Heath Bouayad-Agha

As we move from Spring into Summer 2026, we wanted to highlight the efforts of a recent GCSEN collaborator, intern Hana Heath Bouayad-Agha. Hana recently helped us with several projects, including important upgrades to our website. "In April 2026 I was lucky enough to be able to work for GCSEN as an intern for a few weeks, helping to build on several projects the foundation is working on for the near future. This included working on improving and expanding the social media/digital side of GCSEN, facilitating contacts for the foundation as it works to expand its valuable work across the European continent, as well as preparing content and resources for a nascent GSCEN AI initiative!"

Even at a young age, Hana has an impressive backstory: "I am born and raised in Barcelona to a half British, half French/Algerian family. With this multicultural background I am a native speaker of French, English, Spanish and Catalan. I am a dual diploma International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Spanish Baccalaureate (Bachillerato) honors graduate set to pursue an MSc Biomedical Sciences degree at the University of Edinburgh starting in autumn 2026.” Wow!

GCSEN’s emphasis on problem-solving in pursuit of the 4Ps (People Profit Planet Place) has already had an impact: "With regards to the future, I see my degree in Biomedical Sciences as a stepping stone to my long term goal of improving women's healthcare by developing better policies for the resources they have access to and the way the healthcare system manages diseases that are specific to them. While this is something I have wanted to pursue for some time, my time at GCSEN has added a new dimension to my ideas. I now better understand the great potential starting a social venture related to my field of interest and study could have for my long term career goal, and I am certain this added perspective will make a positive impact in my future."

We appreciate all the help Hana Heath Bouayad-Agha provided GCSEN and hope to keep up with her career. Best of luck with your future, Hana!
