The event recognized the GCSEN Ireland-UK-EU Advisory Board Member for her leading edge research on the emerging regional and global impacts of Social Entrepreneurship. Her well received honorary lecture explored global lessons learned for “Winning the Future for an All-Island Ireland”. Prof. Caslin’s remarks focused on the urgency for renewing career passion and purpose for increased peace and prosperity in historically marginalized and conflicted communities throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, as a key part to lasting impact for the Nobel Prize winning Good Friday Peace Accords.
One of the 100+ academic, business, government, NGO and family guests stated,
“I found Mike Caslin’s closing comments very insightful. In particular when he said a key to finding your Social Entrepreneur within was to reflect on the key life questions: Who am I?, Why am I here? What do I know and need to know? And how do I act on this? This really got me thinking!
After a four-year spell in Ireland/Northern Ireland UK with a large American corporate company, I now have an opportunity to properly consider what I really should do next, instead of the typical default of 'get another job', which I’ve come to see as a quick knee-jerk reaction, not a portfolio career approach.”
