We're catching up with Flor Nájera-Molina, a shining example of the GCSEN journey!
Flor, a graduate of Marist University with a Master’s in Marketing, is a dedicated digital marketing strategist, Founder and President of Najera Studios and rising community leader in the lower Hudson Valley town of Fishkill, NY, who started her journey with GCSEN Foundation as a Communications Intern.
GCSEN’s inspired and connected community members like Flor are fulfilling GCSEN’s greatest hopes, namely the growth of a social entrepreneur global network that achieves 4P Impact- for People, Profit, Planet and Place.
Flor, a Guatemalan immigrant to the United States as a teenager and now a naturalized U.S. Citizen, began her career journey with an internship at GCSEN, and she credits Professor Mike Caslin with providing invaluable guidance and inspiration, always pushing her to "Get to WOW!" It was during her internship at GCSEN where Professor Cas challenged Flor to join with GCSEN but only on the condition that she founded her own venture so GCSEN could be her first client!
Flor then launched Najera Studios, a digital marketing agency focused on supporting nonprofits and small businesses in the Hudson Valley, NY. Drawing inspiration from her father, a long-time business owner, Flor aspired to create a business with Hispanic roots. “I always wanted to start my business but I didn't know how (even after undergrad at SUNY New Paltz and a Master's from Marist). GCSEN was the stepping stone for me to officially start.”
Today, Flor is a for-profit social entrepreneur who wears many hats to generate cash flow, create value and achieve 4P Impact. Flor’s firm supports clients and their wide-ranging communication needs while she also serves as the Digital Director at Fusion Church, where she leverages her marketing expertise to connect and inspire her faith-based community through digital platforms. Najera Studios continues to thrive and partners with high-impact organizations like DAY ONE Early Learning Community to enhance their brand presence and drive results.
GCSEN is proud to announce that Flor was recently honored as a “Top Forty Under 40 Mover & Shaker” by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Flor was thrilled to attend a ceremony on May 1st along with other young Dutchess County leaders where she was recognized for her work and her impact.
Adding to her impressive list of accomplishments, Flor is also pursuing pastoral ordination at Berean School of the Bible. When asked about her proudest accomplishment, Flor cites becoming the Digital Director at Fusion Church- which fuses passion and purpose, vision and mission.
Flor also shared some of the hurdles she has faced, including overcoming generational economic poverty in her family, emphasizing that "little by little, we are overcoming and finding ways up and out."
Flor's advice for those starting out is both simple and powerful: "Sometimes you have to work extra hard compared to other people. That’s okay, keep pushing through!" Flor echoes and personifies GCSEN’s cultural themes and success traits of each day living full of GRIT and working for your DREAMS!
Looking ahead to 2030, Flor envisions having her own office and working with many more clients. Najera Studios can be found at najerastudios.org, where Flor's mission remains clear: to combine her marketing skills, ministry experience, and entrepreneurial mindset to create meaningful connections and foster positive change. That sounds like a 4P Social Entrepreneur to us!
We're incredibly proud of Flor's achievements and are excited to see what she accomplishes next!
